Offline vs cloud invoicing: what changes?
Both approaches can work well. The important question is where your data lives, how it is backed up and who needs access.
Local-first desktop software
A local Windows application can keep day-to-day business records on the device and work without a continuous internet connection. The owner must plan for backups, device loss and secure account access.
Cloud and browser applications
Browser tools make cross-device access and team collaboration easier, but rely on provider availability, network connectivity and an appropriate data protection model.
Encryption and recovery
Neither option is automatically risk-free. Strong authentication, backups, tested recovery, carefully scoped user permissions and timely security updates matter in both.
YCB Desk's direction
We are building a local-first Windows product. Future account-based services and optional Web/cloud sync are deliberately separate; Google sign-in alone does not place invoices into Google Drive.
